Black Adam is a DC Comics superhero, who first appeared in Shazam! (2019). The film takes place after the events of that movie and stars Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam. He’s joined by Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, Bodhi Sabongui, and Pierce Brosnan.
Black Adam Movie Storyline:
The story begins five thousand years ago with Kahandak, a city ruled by the tyrannical king Anh-Kot. The king wanted to crown Anh-kot sabbak – a headdress that would give him his powers. He forced his men to dig for “Eternium” – the magical crystal needed for the crown. A young boy led a rebellion against him and killed him, ending his rule in the process. Nowadays harassment is being done by intergang in Kannada.
Archaeologist Adriana Tomasz, with the help of her brother Karim and colleagues Samir and Ishmael, is searching for the crown of Sabbak. They are trying to prevent Intergang from coming into contact with Adam first or worst – because they know he has power. He kills most of the Intergang soldiers when they attack them. Following this adventure, it is revealed that Ishmael is an Intergang member who intends to take the crown and then harms himself like he always does.
Government official Amanda Waller learns of the incident and contacts Carter Hall/Hawkman to take Adam into custody before something more terrible happens. Hawkman is accompanied by other members of the Justice Society of America (Kent Nelson/Doc Fate, Maxine Hinkel/Cyclone, and Albert “Al” Rothstein/Atom Smasher) to stop Adam.

“Black Adam” is a surprisingly serious-minded and enigmatic project that deprives Johnson of his greatest strength—his sense of humour—by now letting the straight-faced star play a character with some interesting contrasts. This flexibility will prove important because, in the fictional country where the film takes place, there is a more malevolent (though not particularly memorable) character who plans to free Kahandak.
